A6 "Seek-Locate-Destroy" (Blake's 7)

Seems we're still labouring under the apprehension that Terry Nation wrote these scripts.

I'm sure by this point it was all Chris Boucher.

i think Nation was sending in about three pages per script later on

Pretty sure Boucher has said that that was the case after just the first few episodes.

Best Worst robot EVER. That thing is so hilariously bad it makes K9 look like the Terminator.

Blake teleports down first, then moans at Vila to hurry up.
He's bringing the cooler with the beers.

Blake & Vila are on the planet of the 1970s industrial estates. Vila busts his sonic screwdriver.

"There isn't a lock I can't open if I'm scared enough." Vila's getting some good lines now.

Like "Any very talented person could have done it!"

His whole distraction speech ("I've come to blow something up, what do you think would be most suitable?") is something you can easily imagine coming out of Tom Baker's mouth.

Blake & Vila stick up a federation control room, then Jenna teleports down Gan, Cally & Avon. It's a party now.

he did not drop it then......?

He's getting better. Managed to hold 2 guns at once in fact, plus that beer cooler.

Avon starts the 1970s equivalent of computer hacking - physically faffing with wires.

Sci Fi tech don't age well, clothes are worse

So you'd think but maybe the future will be full of 1970s tat?

They can just label it as "retro"! ;-P

As in retro rockets?

Gan sets mines, while Vila takes care of some guards - though not before they raise the alarm.

Cally is stuck guarding Peter Craze. He played a Sensorite, so knows all about telepaths & gets the drop on her.

So basically what they've nicked is the Federation Enigma machine.

They're so pleased with themselves they take an age to realize Cally's not made it back.

its good to know she has made such a big impression on her new pals!

They will soon find out when tea isn't served, their beds aren't made and when nobody bothers pressing flowers into a book.

I have to assume that now they have the Enigma machine they'll be after the Federation flower press.

Meanwhile on the Wheel in Space...

Nyder is reporting to the woman in white... Heeeeeere's Servalan!

Servalan says Blake is just a man. With a man's courage? She's thinking of Flash Gordon, surely?

Blake's aliiive.... well Avon's final enigmatic smile must have meant something

Servalan's calling in Space Commander Travis. Nyder had heard he was suspended after the Massacre.

Travis did that? and he looks such a nice chap

"You've got to make peace with yourself if you want to survive." A glimpse into Jenna's thought process.

Travis has arrived. Servalan makes him wait outside while she sweet talks Rai.

More build up for Travis, where Rai describes him as a "butcher" and an "assassin".

"Your aide said I was to wait. He was obviously mistaken." Travis lays on the swagger.

he practically thrusts his crotch into Servalans face with his hands on his hips. not subtle really

That *is* subtle for Travis.

Travis's eye patch is massive, the Brigade Leader would feel very inferior, and suffer eye patch envy.

Eye patch envy is a terrible thing.

would you be brave enough to tell him that it was not a good look?

The best even Servalan dares is "unpleasing"!

Blake thought he'd killed Travis. This must have been before he was living his brainwashed life on Earth.

So far, Travis has sought Blake, located Cally and only really destroyed some scenery by chewing it.

Travis has ordered a new set of wheels and a crew of emotionless mutoids.

Travis lost a hand and an eye to Blake. His co-ordination must be crap.

Now Travis has a laser hand and an eyepatch he thinks makes him look cool.

Cally decides to play stupid. "Who's Blake?"

Love that they still use pieces of paper with handwritten notes in this future.

Travis has rumbled that they have the Enigma machine so decides to set a trap.

Zen really can't be arsed. Sounds so fed up. Obviously no time for Cally.

Zen hates perms, FACT!

Standard by... 5. Also, I can't do the Orac 'on' noise using characters alone :(

Blake has pulled Travis' own trick on him by getting there first so the trap fails.

"You don't matter enough to kill." Blake totally puts Travis down. That's cold.

"Run, Blake, run. As far and as fast as you like. You can't hide from me; I am your death, Blake."

Psst, Travis. He can't hear you!

you would think he was a recurring character something, so everyone Travis now goes on to kill is Blakes fault

TTFN! K.

  1. I love that last comment about how everyone Travis now goes on to kill is Blake's fault.
